New service connects providers and patients remotely to patient vital signs 24/7

Washington, D.C. – July 7, 2020 – Rhythm Management Group, a leading provider of remote monitoring services, has announced the appointment of Dr. James Brown to lead the firm’s new Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) practice. With more than 50 years of collective remote monitoring experience for implanted cardiac devices, Rhythm’s new RPM practice will enable expert 24/7 monitoring of patient vitals, including weight, blood pressure, blood oximetry, and more.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, the ability to remotely monitor the health of at-risk populations is more critical than ever. RPM gives patients the peace of mind of knowing their health is being monitored outside of a clinical setting, while freeing up physician practice resources for those who need them most. Rhythm provides devices like scales and blood pressure cuffs that are connected with cellular technology that automatically send measurements to Rhythm’s team, without the need for special applications, passwords, or internet connection. When vital signs that are monitored by patients at home indicate significant changes or emergencies, their physician is informed immediately so that problems can be addressed without delay. RPM ensures that healthcare providers are always connected to their patients.

“RPM is an important way to maintain eyes on the vital signs of at-risk patients.,” said Dr. Brown. “While RPM is a newer concept, with the need to limit in-person visits to doctors’ offices due to COVID-19, this service is absolutely essential. I’m very excited to be joining the Rhythm team to spearhead this critical new service line, and help our physician partners optimize care management for their patients.”

Prior to joining Rhythm Management Group, Dr. Brown practiced family medicine for 18 years, with a special interest in cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obstetrics. After earning his M.D. from Northeast Ohio Medical University, he completed his residency at the Barberton Citizens Hospital, acting as Chief Resident for his final year. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and licensed to practice medicine in Ohio, New York, and Maryland.

“We are very happy to have Dr. Brown lead this critical new service line for Rhythm and our partners,” said Rhonda Bray, RMG’s Founder and CEO. “With our company’s deep experience in remote cardiac monitoring, adding an RPM service line was a logical next step, to ensure the best health outcomes for patients with heart conditions or other chronic conditions. We’re excited to grow this service offering and help our physician partners maximize their practice resources while delivering superior patient care.
